Known as the Chapter of Effortless Sisterhood, the Kappa Beta Zeta Chapter was chartered in 1979 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is part of the Greater Great Lakes Region. Triumphant Charter Member Gertrude Payton moved to the Milwaukee area with her husband and daughter in the early 1950s as part of the Great Migration. Over the years as a Milwaukee resident, she met several other members of Zeta Phi Beta living in the area. She became the organizer and a charter member of KBZ.
